12:51PM - BTVS - Spike/Buffy music video - Break The Ice

Britney Spears - Break The Ice
Spike/Buffy Music Video
Edited on Avid Media Composer

This is a music video showcasing all the best of Spike and Buffy from their tender moments and sexual intensity, to the fights and overall violence. Just a good overall look at their relationship. The song is "Break the Ice" by Britney Spears. This is one of the few Britney songs that I actually like and it fits Spike and Buffy perfectly.

This is a Buffy: The Vampire Slayer and Angel: The Series RPG.

Invis Sunnydale

Recently the game rainbosunnydale has changed hands for modship purposes and I’ve made some major overhauls. Rules and regulations have been changed, former inactive players have been dropped and I’m looking for new crew members. I’m still working on over-hauling many parts of the comm. And OOC but we in the game are looking for new blood.

Premise of the game holds mild spoilers if you haven't seen end of season 7 buffy or end of season 4 Angel.Collapse )

I love how they change the time of Dollhouse to be 9pm instead of 10pm, 12 hours before the series premier. It's like they're intentionally trying to make it fail!

And I just got a message on Facebook that the event time got changed. That's how I found out about it.

12:27PM - Malahsa RP - Panfandom

quick summary

Malahsa is the only salvation in a vast, unending and uncharted desert. It is a buzzing oasis city, and you have mysteriously ended up here, with absolutely no memory of how it happened and absolutely no idea about how to get back home.

You better make yourself comfortable, because you're stuck here for a while.

Oh, it gets worse: the oasis has a mind of its own.

Malahsa has several exits that open to new, undiscovered worlds. You may up in a teaming metropolis city tomorrow, you could find yourself right smack in the middle of a battlefield the next day, and you could emerge into a world of pirates and mermaids the day after. It's all up to the whim of the oasis itself.

And don't even try to fight it. Malahsa will fight back.

9:49PM - Can't Stop The Serenity Screening - Dayton, OH

The independently owned and operated Little Art Theatre in Yellow Springs, OH will host two free screenings of the 2005 adventure film SERENITY to benefit the international human rights organization Equality Now.

Screenings will be held Saturday, June 21, 2008 at 4 p.m. and Monday, June 23 at 7:30 p.m. (Doors open 30 minutes before show time.) Although there is no admission charge to the event, donations to Equality Now are strongly encouraged. Donations will be collected at the event, and can also be made online at LittleArt.com beginning Friday, May 9.

Equality Now works to end violence and discrimination against women and girls around the world through the mobilization of public pressure. Issues of concern to Equality Now include rape, domestic violence, reproductive rights, trafficking, female genital mutilation, political participation and gender discrimination.

Beginning in 2006, fans of SERENITY and its writer-director, Joss Whedon, began organizing screenings of the film around the world to raise money and awareness to benefit Equality Now. (Whedon was an Equality Now "Men on the Front Lines" honoree in 2005.) 2008 marks the first time an Ohio theater outside of Cleveland has participated in this worldwide effort.

"The Little Art is extremely proud to host these free screenings, and to offer Yellow Springs, Dayton and our neighboring communities this important opportunity to come together in support of equality and opportunity for women around the world," said Little Art owner Jenny Cowperthwaite.

Shown at the Little Art from a pristine, high-definition digital source, SERENITY stars Nathan Fillion as Captain Malcolm Reynolds, a hardened veteran of a galactic civil war, who now ekes out a living pulling off small crimes and transport-for-hire aboard his ship, Serenity. He leads a small, eclectic crew who are the closest thing he has left to family — squabbling, insubordinate and undyingly loyal. When Mal takes on two new passengers — a young doctor and his unstable, telepathic sister — he gets much more than he bargained for: The pair are fugitives from the coalition dominating the universe, who will stop at nothing to reclaim the girl and her unique abilities. The crew that was once used to skimming the outskirts of the galaxy unnoticed find themselves caught between the unstoppable military force of the Universal Alliance and the fury of the Reavers, savages who roam the very edge of space. (Universal Pictures)

From the Equality Now website (equalitynow.org): "Equality Now is extremely grateful for the support of [SERENITY fans] and inspired by the tremendous energy and commitment they have put into their efforts to support our work to end human rights abuses against women and girls around the world."

The Little Art Theater will also be offering the following Whedonverse media for sale with 100% of the profits going to Equality Now:

SERENITY: COLLECTOR'S EDITION (DVD)
$25 - Two-disc DVD set includes over 60 minutes of all-new bonus features and

never-before-seen footage

SERENITY (DVD)
$14 - Single-disc DVD edition

SERENITY (CD)
$18 - Original CD soundtrack by composer David Newman

FIREFLY: THE COMPLETE SERIES (DVD)
$30 - Four-disc DVD box set

FIREFLY (CD)
$18 - CD soundtrack to the TV show

BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER: THE CHOSEN COLLECTION (DVD)
$179 - Complete series - 40-disc DVD box set

BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER: ONCE MORE WITH FEELING (CD)
$18 - Original cast recording

ANGEL: THE COMPLETE SERIES (DVD)
$135 - 30-disc DVD box set

If you've been waiting to buy The Chosen Collection or Firefly: The Complete series on DVD, now is the best time -- 100% of the profits will go to Equality Now. Take home the 'verse and donate to an extremely worth cause.

10:08PM - Can’t Stop the Serenity Charity Screenings in 2008 – Volunteers Wanted

2008 is finally here! And with it is another year of ‘Can’t Stop the Serenity’ charity screenings.

If you’re not familiar with ‘Can’t Stop the Serenity’ (CSTS), this is a global charity event centered around screenings of ‘Serenity’. It all began in 2006, when 47 cities across the world held events to raise money for human rights organisation, ‘Equality Now’. Over US$65,000 was raised in that first year. The event continued in 2007, with 46 cities raising over US$115,000. In 2008, the goal is US$150,000 with 55 cities set to participate.

Since it’s beginnings, Australian Browncoats have been a key part of events. And in 2008, we would like to see this tradition continue. We hope to have events happening across Australia on 4-6 July 2008.

To help things along, we have formed a CSTS Australia & New Zealand Coordination Team (CSTS ANZ). We have already lined up lots of amazing auction items for participating cities, and our aim is to help make the process as easy as possible for each area by assisting with media, promotion, logistics and planning.

If you are interested in joining the CSTS Australia & New Zealand Coordination Team, or would like to help organise an event in your area, please email CSTS.ANZ@gmail.com.

We will be hosting a group chat session on Sunday 3 February at 8pm to answer any questions and to do some brainstorming. Please let us know if you’re interested in attending and we will provide you with access information.

We look forward to seeing you all at ‘Can’t Stop the Serenity 2008’!

Keep flying,

Jen Cummings
CSTS Australia & New Zealand
